A Mental Health Holiday Gift Guide

The holidays aren’t always easy for those of us with a mental illness. For some, it can bring up bouts of depression, anxiety, or even a PTSD flare up. However, there are some things that can make the holidays a little bit easier for those who suffer with these debilitating disorders.

Here’s some of my top picks for gifts for someone who has a mental illness. These certainly aren’t the only things that are acceptable, and I definitely do not intend to be stereotypical in any way, but these are some thoughtful things that can help put your friend or loved one at ease during the holidays.

Natrogix Essential Oils Kit with Oils

This beautiful essential oils kit comes with nine 100% pure essential oils and a 150mL essential oil diffuser. This is the perfect gift for those who enjoy and benefit from aromatherapy.

Cozy Throw Blanket

When depression strikes, all I want to do is cozy up in bed and binge-watch Netflix or nap. There is nothing that says comfort like a cozy throw blanket can!

Leather Journal

What better gift is there for a person with a mental illness than a leather journal for them to write down all of their thoughts in? This is a great gift for anyone, really.

Scented candles

Candles are a great way to add a wonderful ambiance to any room, and certain scents can be great stress relievers. This beautiful set comes with rose, lavender, peppermint, and tea tree oil scented candles.

Memory foam House Slippers

House slippers are literally one of the best things to ever be invented — especially memory foam house slippers! These would make the perfect gift considering the season.

“Posh to meet you” self-care pampering set

Posh to Meet You

Perfectly Posh’s “Posh to Meet You” gift set is the perfect gift for any of your loved ones who deserve some pampering. This set comes with a nature-based bath soap chunk, non-greasy and amazingly scented hand cream, and scented chap stick.

You can pick and choose which exact items will come in the set so that you can cater it specifically to your loved one!

Moisturizing Face Mask

All I've Avo Wanted

I’m a consultant for a wonderful company that is all about pampering — we have amazing face masks that would make a perfect gift for anyone who needs a little self-care. I would personally recommend our “All I’ve Avo Wanted” face mask, which is a moisturizing, avocado face mask that is paraben-free and cruelty-free (not tested on animals).

This is a multi-use container, meaning that your loved one will get plenty of applications from this one container!

Relaxing bath salts

Sleep Sleep Bath Salts

Bath salts would make a fantastic gift. Not only is “Sleepy Sleep” an aromatherapy Epsom bath salt, but it is also made with lavender essential oils and promotes relaxation.

Himalayan Salt Lamp

Himalayan salt lamps are, in my opinion, amazing and incredibly relaxing. Not only does the glow create a beautiful, warm ambiance, but the natural Himalayan salt promotes healing and can do amazing things for our mental health.

Moon Lamp

This beautifully realistic moon lamp would make a perfect gift. I have one and usually turn it on for a little while each day.
